MESH OTTAWA
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Self-Help Ottawa

Charity #888895463RR0001

Our Philosophy

We recognise that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) or Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction (CFIDS), and Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) are life-altering, complex invisible chronic medical conditions that are poorly understood and can negatively affect the quality of life of over 40,000 women, men and children with CFS/FMS within the Greater Ottawa region.

We further recognise that family members, children, family doctors, specialists, employers and all government levels carry the costly burden of these often disabling conditions.

Our Purpose

For this purpose, MESH Ottawa is engaged in a collaborative effort with our community to transform the design and delivery of social services and to contribute to the design of effective programs to increase awareness, reduce isolation, increase social participation and improve quality of life.

Our Commitment

MESH Ottawa is committed to the health and well-being of those diagnosed with CFS/CFIDS/ME and/or FMS, their families, communities and caregivers.

In doing so, MESH Ottawa strives to improve community engagement through public awareness by raising funds to develop effective educational and social programs that will assist those in need with tools to reduce isolation by increasing involvement within the community which in turn improves quality of life.
